
Vice-Governor Rodrigo Garcia and Secretary of Education Rossieli Soares inaugurated this Wednesday (18th) the 1st São Paulo Basic Education Innovation Center (CIEBP). The space works in the building of the State School Professor Zuleika de Barros Martins Ferreira, in Pompéia, West Zone, but will serve the entire state network of São Paulo.
The coordination of CIEBP is by Débora Garofalo who last year was considered one of the ten best teachers in the world, in the Global Teacher Prize.
At CIEBP, students will be able to design projects and receive mentoring at the innovation hub; working with maker culture, programming and robotics; or even, use 3D modeling to make prototypes with transversal themes. To use the location, schools will need to schedule.
The purpose of the equipment is to develop the role of students in the teaching and learning process with hands-on activities, in addition to giving new meaning to idle spaces in schools.
The CIEBP also integrates Seduc’s innovation triad, which has as its premise the new components of the Inova Educação program as Technology and Innovation; cultural, with the Inova Movement, and experimentation, with the Innovation Center.
“CIEBP is an important innovation tool for teachers and students of the São Paulo state school system, as it allows students and teachers in the classroom and at night to enhance their projects and experiment with new modalities and innovation tools in an unprecedented format for education because we have multifunctional rooms and an innovation hub offering education solutions ”, says Débora Garofalo.
Infrastructure
The CIEBP has six rooms for activities with the use of computers, robotic programming, digital games, research, project ideation. It also houses a small studio at the Media Center of São Paulo (CMSP) for recording, voiceover, maker room for visual creativity, prototyping, digital fabrication, in addition to an Educational Hub.
Nine teachers trained and prepared by major partners in the Faz Educação area, representatives from Apple, Microsoft, Telefonica Vivo will mediate the work.
By the year 2022, Seduc plans to install another 14 innovation centers across the state.
