
The US Embassy and Consulates in Brazil announce the selection process with 33 vacancies for the Youth Ambassadors 2021 program. The program seeks Brazilian public high school students, aged 15 to 18, who are currently engaged, for at least six months, in entrepreneurship and social impact initiatives and seek to solve problems in their communities. Leadership profile, academic excellence and knowledge of the English language are also among the requirements. Registration is until March 7 and the exchange in the United States is scheduled for July 2021.

Clarification Note
We emphasize that the realization of the face-to-face exchange in the United States depends on health, safety and travel conditions, and also on the approval of the US Department of State regarding the implementation of a face-to-face exchange in July 2021. If this is not possible, the selected will be invited to participate in a virtual exchange in an interactive and innovative format.
Social Entrepreneurship
For the purposes of the Youth Ambassadors program, social entrepreneurship is the set of actions that lead to positive social transformation. The program seeks young people who think outside the box to develop an idea, product or service with the aim of benefiting not only themselves, but also their community. Regardless of whether they are large or small, or in the area of entrepreneurship (social inclusion, education, culture, community credit, urban mobility, gender and race equality, environment, special needs, cooperatives in general, etc.), these young people seek find creative solutions to problems in their communities.
The Young Ambassadors program
The program, created in 2003, is an initiative of the US Embassy and Consulates in Brazil in partnership with the US Department of State. In addition, it has the institutional support of FedEx, IBM and MSD, the National Council of Education Secretaries (CONSED), the State Education Secretariats, the Brazil-United States Binational Centers network, USBEA, the + Unidos Group – collaborative social investment fund formed by North American companies established in Brazil and PLT4Way – Social Impact initiative in English Language Teaching. Currently, the Youth Ambassadors Program is implemented in all countries on the American continent and also has a reverse program for young North Americans to represent the USA in Latin America. Since its creation, 677 young Brazilians have participated in the program.
