
Registrations for the Gerdau Transforma program is open, the result of a partnership between Gerdau and the Besouro de Fomento Social Institute. The course aims to train about 600 new entrepreneurs in the cities of São José dos Campos, Mogi das Cruzes and Pindamonhangaba (SP) through free and online training.
Interested parties have until October 25th to register via the project website. The edition will take place between October 26th and 30th.
Based on the By Necessity® methodology, developed by the Besouro Institute, the training supports young people and small entrepreneurs to enter the job market through individual empowerment and strengthening. In addition to teaching the basics to start a company, such as opening a CNPJ, defining the target audience, notions of profit, investment and cash flow. Altogether, there are 10 teaching steps for the student to finish the course with the future business plan in hand.
Launched in 2019, the initiative was carried out with face-to-face classes in Minas Gerais. This year, Gerdau expanded the program to São Paulo, in addition to adapting to the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and providing training in the virtual environment. To participate you must be between 18 and 29 years old, be enrolled or have attended public school, willingness to undertake, have a business idea and live in outlying areas.

According to the president of the Besouro Institute and creator of By Necessity, Vinicius Mendes Lima, the partnership with Gerdau is important to encourage youth, both personally and professionally. “The program’s objective is to show young Brazilians, Mexicans and Peruvians that they are creative and capable of entrepreneurship, even in times of pandemic. To be an entrepreneur is to believe in yourself and that it is possible to change the community and, who knows, the world”, he says.
