The objective is to develop educational activities for primary and secondary school teachers and students and literature about the preservation of biodiversity and natural resources in Mamirauá and Amaña Sustainable Development Reserves.

In April 2003 ExxonMobil and Sociedade Civil Mamirauá partnered to create the ExxonMobil-Mamirauá Environment Education Program in the central region of the Amazon. The objective is to develop educational activities for primary and secondary school teachers and students and literature about the preservation of biodiversity and natural resources in Mamirauá and Amaña Sustainable Development Reserves. The program also extends to the municipalities of Tefé, Alvarães and Uarini in the State of Amazonas.

In October 2009 the United States Agency of International Development (USAID) and representatives of the ExxonMobil-Mamirauá project signed a letter of understanding to provide tools and resources for a documentary to be produced by 15 students of the program. The students are currently attending workshops to gain skills for the video. The finalized material will later be used as educational on local public schools.
